"Unfortunately for you, a third party tester has found that Atom systems use more power than a 1GHz Athlon 64 2000+ system while being much slower." To be fair, that is only for the ones intended for desktop/netbook/embedded use. The one intended for MIDs is better on power consumption. AMD needs to do the BGA version of that processor. That, and the eventual move to 45nm and a lower voltage, could mean a very compelling product.
