"a) I don't know that she was. The nature of that job is that public presentation does not usually comport with behind-the-scenes knowledge;"

Right. Have you seen the terms of the ceasefire she brokered?

"Just because you claim, after the fact, that it should have been obvious to everyone doesn't mean that is the case."

The fact that Russia has been building up troops for months is well known. What wasn't known is that Georgia was going to attack South Ossetia. Given that we had just finished training a bunch of Georgian troops, the very same troops who were involved in the attack on South Ossetia, one has to suspect we knew of those plans.

This woman clearly is one of the, if not THE, leading scholars on the subject of Russia on earth.

Really? She may be but she has the street smarts of a gnat. She needs to go back to ivory tower asap!

She got took in Moscow this week just as she got took in Israel/Lebanon two summers ago. This GA fiasco is the absolute icing on the cake......it wreaks of incompetence, arrogance, extremist politics and ideology, and ultimately stupidity. November can't come soon enough for my poor country.
