It isn't clear that she is the foremost expert. For one, it isn't all that clear that she has kept up since the USSR collapsed. "The second-best expert, John Bolten, " Now this is where you go off into fantasy land. That is an opinion that is certainly under dispute.

The second-best expert, John Bolten, BTW, doesn't agree with Rice's handling of the matter. But Bolten's knowledge, while substantial, it doesn't approach Rice's. Short of Armand Hammer, long deceased, I don't know of anyone who is more well-versed about the region. OMG. The whole world is laughing at Bush/Condi and here you are not only defending them but singing their praises. You are the ultimate hack.
