the morons on this thread

Do you know what a moron is? From Websters..

moron: n. A retarded person mentally equal to a child between eight and twelve years old.

There is a word that describes a person who attempts to derisively impugn the intelligence of those who hold contrary opinions.

That word is asshole. Capiche??

Nice strawman there.

I welcome their success.

Does this mean solar cells are competitive without big subsidies now?

First of all people haven't been saying "the US government has no business helping the alternative energy industry succeed". so your pretty much attacking a straw man.

Secondly if one has the belief that the US government SHOULD NOT put resources in to alternative energy, it would not imply a belief that the US government CAN NOT help the alternative energy industry succeed, or that throwing a bunch of government resources in to the effort, would not produce any results.

So your not even knocking down the straw man, let alone the actual arguments made by other people on this thread.
