Edwards was seduced by a professional pleasure-giver.

To say this is not to express admiration or sympathy for Edwards, but just to describe what happened.

The National Inquirer is too crude and unintelligent to discover what actually happened. They can't even report what exact sexual acts took place.

I think it may have cost Bill Clinton a million dollars to extricate himself from somewhat comparable situations but he went ahead and did what he had to. Also, the women he was dealing with were not as smart as what Edwards got involved with.

Spitzer went looking for trouble and being a competent man, he found it.

The problem with all these guys is getting mixed up with worthless women. If you are going to fool around, wait for a woman whom you would not be ashamed to be married to to find you out. Don't humiliate your decent spouses by being caught messing with whores. Let a smart, competent woman like Barbara Walters set her sights on you and just enjoy the results.

Of course, I cannot mention the most successful affairs because no one knows about them.
