Perhaps they didn't, but an argument can be made that this DOES create a conflict of interests (unlike the situation we discussed earlier).

By withholding any vote on additional drilling, it can be reasonably argued that there is, at the very least, an appearance of impropriety here. That is, the wihholding of the vote on additional drilling could positively influence the share price of the Pickens stock.

This is unlike Dick Cheney, for example, the Left's favorite punching bag, who divested himself of ALL his interest in HAL shares before taking office.
