It's amazing how cavalier attitudes are here regarding US intervention overseas. The US establishment of bases in the former Soveit republics is not much different than Russia establishing new military bases in Mexico and Canada while seeking to exclude the US from NATO. How would the US respond to such events, especially if a situation presented iteself like a hypothetical situation like a breakaway province like Ontario who likes the US being invaded by Canada, backed by Russians? It's only when we confront our own myopic tendencies that we can reveal the truth of our own institutional biases.
