That's the real scandal. Bush-Cheney was arming Georgia to get them to agree and support the Iraq disaster. They didn't, by a log shot, arm them enough to take on the Russians, they just gave them enough arms to cause trouble. This is at it's heart another failure of the Iraq war.

Apparently. The Russians are claiming to have captured shipments of US weapons to Georgia. Granted, they probably were in the pipe before things got hot. But, if true and I don't trust the Russians at all, it means that we knew something was in the works.
