<getting out ASAP>

Surely you jest. My precious...my precious oil...it's still there. With a megaforce embassy and dozens of large new bases, the US obviously has no intention of leaving Iraq. Remember the haggling point of last spring regarding the Iraqis reluctance to sign over control of oil to US companies and to grant immunity to US contractors. Does that sound like they think the US is leaving ?

Besides, there have been a succession of reasons why the US invaded: WMDs, Al Queda, sectarian war, Iranian involvement, etc., etc. etc. As each one was refuted, a new one popped up. The result,the US is still there and going nowhere. I think you confuse rhetoric for action. Bush and company is still in charge, and rule by executive decree because the Dems don't want to rock the boat lest they lose a chance at the brass ring (please excuse mixed metaphor). The cabal is not exposed, It is as strong as ever. I'm not sure if Bush knows any of the players in Georgia, but I'm sure he can name two beach volllyballers.
