I've been buying lease return cars for decades. I've never gotten stung. Usually these are one year old (sometimes a bit older) with up to 20k miles on them and all the factory warranty that remains. My current car is a 2004 Buick that consistently gets 23 mpg around town and well over 30 on the road. I have to say, I drive it to get good mileage. No heavy footing it around town. I coast to stop signs, rather than accelerate to them. My next car won't be this big, but it will be as comfortable if that's at all possible. I only have 54k miles on this one, so it will be a while before I'll replace it.

That is very, very cool, but I'd be afraid to drive it up hwy 2 to go skiing.

I'm thinking of looking at Hertz used cars for that prius when I'm ready to buy.
