Disclaimer regarding the above message.

I decided to do some research to see if this was a

Satirical Piece by Thomas Sowell

I believe in verifying these messages if possible.

Still checking for a link.

Regardless it makes for good satire.

During the hundreds of days of the hostage crisis in Iran the Mullahs wouldn't give an inch with Carter....They knew he was a joke and didn't have the balls to do anything to force their hand. The situation continued, right up to the time that Reagan was sworn in..... the Iranians thought that Reagan was just crazy enough to do something hard core. End result? The Iranians released all the hostages as soon as Reagan was in office. Proof that the crazies in this world have no respect for perceived doves who wish to rely on diplomacy adnauseum. Soft diplomacy has its place but unless there's the threat and the will to use harder measures it's all for naught.........

MJ, according to many websites, that piece wasn't written by Sowell, but whoever wrote it did a convincing job. First clue for me should've been the butchered spelling of Ghdaffi, which is even worse than my faulty spelling of Omar's surname.
