Certainly, people can have very similar experiences, I see nothing so odd about that... I watched the dual interview the other night, mccain came across as very sincere and candid, unlike obama... people can decide whatever they want, but I doubt it would make a significant difference at the end of the day... bj clinton also told stories about this and that, no one ever questioned it nor did it ever amount to anything... if someone relates a very personal account of his life to me, I listen and respect them enough to believe them at face value... only the skeptic who may have something to hide himself would be so suspicious...

Re: "...People are naturally curious about why a very similar story was previously expressed by Solzynitzen"

First I'd heard of that....

(Was the 'cross-in-the-dirt' story in one of Solzhenitsyn's books, or collected speeches / writings?)
