Biden is the VP frontrunner, per the Evening News.

Tarado, Talk about a mindmeld thru the cyberwaves..after I wrote my post to manalagi, I thought exactly that re: the issue of Black man getting aggressive..we'd talked about this during the primaries...I figured I'd post it next time but I'm glad you found a newsweek peace to support this notion...

I just got off the phone with a cousin in FLA. Typically I try to stay away from political conversations with him because he voted for Bush twice. However, he brought up Georgia today. So I asked him what he thought. He went off on Putin which didn't surprise me. So then I asked what he thought about the US training Georgian troops, about encouraging NATO to take in GA even though that upsets Putin, about Georgia's attack on S. Ossetia, about the US sending military stuff etc. He said he had not heard any of that stuff. He asked me where I heard it....I said the NY Times and the WA Post. He started laughing.....those people don't tell the truth. They are so far left they have gone off the edge....and they are losing readership. It was so disturbing talking to this man who is a doctor but who was badly informed that I had to get off the phone as quickly as possible.

The reason I am telling you this is that everything about Obama is suspect and he does have to act differently. People like my cousin are watching him every minute. I had a friend who was half black and half Latino. He said the same thing about the anger thing......he had to be careful all the time and never lose it because it upsets people. Ironically, it led to a fight between us and the friendship was never the same. One of the things he threw up at me during the argument was that I would never know what a pain it was to cut black hair. I just looked at him shocked. So I am sure Obama has had to do a lot things a little differently to survive in this world....particularly when people like my cousin are around to make him wrong.

For the millionth time, I must say I am tired of all this garbage.

Zeta: "So many variables..his white bro VP pick better be a pitbull..that's all I gotta say...not being cheeky here either..

koan: "Biden and Hillary are the pit bulls-lol.

You have no idea how soothing this thread is to me. It is like a cool compress on my political wounds. For the first time in my life I have encountered a whole group of people not only who are logical and honest, but compassonate.

I have fought the neo cons, racists, bigots, sexists and homophobs and jingoists my whole life and am a bit nuts and battle weary from the experience.

To know such people as the ones on this thread even exist gives me such great comfort.

If you want a vp pitbull, which I agree, then Biden should be the vp.

For those of you with your jaws on the ground after you get the text from Obama naming Hillary Clinton as his nominee, I have compiled for you the following list of rational strategic reasons for Obama's decision and the circumstantial evidence that supports the conclusion that Hillary Clinton has already been chosen as the VP nominee, and not just because choosing another candidate with an O in their name has such interesting typographic possibilities:
