He said the driver for the sell-off in gold was the dash to cash ahead of the deflationary storm.


yeah, that's what happened in the past.

he doesn't address why it happened (like is it just the unwinding of leveraged long commodity positions?).

he has always said gold does best in deflations.

he didn't say he doesn't like it going forward.

he didn't say sell your gold, which he has advocated holding a lot of.

btw, I posted his missive tonight not because I thought he had changed his position on gold but because I thought the change in his health was newsworthy. the guy is the oldest continuously published stock newsletter writer in the country. he hasn't taken a real vacation in decades. all of a sudden he all but stopped.
