I was in outside sales much of my career. In that capacity I was provided a company car, so I've actually had at least a half dozen "new" cars that I didn't buy myself. Most of those were leased on a 3 year plan. In one case I was able to buy the car at the end of the lease for nearly half of the blue book value. I drove that car into the ground for another 5 years, then traded it on another lease return. Good used cars are a genuine good value.

We've tried to make that case to our grown children, but so far, they haven't listened. But I do know they moan and groan about the cost of the car every month.....
