And if I add in the cost for Social Security they would increase even more. Its just about as relevant. Maybe we can add the cost for the Moon landings, and for building the Hoover damn as well. Gee if we keep adding costs and calling them the cost of gasoline we might be able to get some really expensive gas...

In any case even if you add in the cost of operations in Iraq, in support of Iraq, and in the Persian Gulf and Arabian Sea for Iraq or for any other purpose, it still would not come close to the level of increase that you suggest.

We use 385 million gallons of gasoline a day. 365.25 days per year rounding down lets call it it 140 billion gallons per year. Adding the cost of Iraq to the cost for gasoline would give you less than a dollar per gallon, and even that amount would be temporary, as Iraq is not a permanent thing.
