Your conclusion from that two year old story isn't warranted. The Interior Department may well have been doing a poor job of auditing oil and gas producers. But that isn't evidence there is any widespread cheating going on. I'd be amazed if there were, particularly on the part of major companies. broader investigations of the oil and gas leasing program when Democrats take control of the House and Senate in January. Well that happened more than a year and a half ago now. And?? Politicians make all kinds of accusations that aren't true. No consequences for doing so.
