I know that and it's wonderful. I won't even own my current car when it hits 100k miles. At my age and the small number of miles I drive each year, I might not even drive another 100k in my LIFE!

I know everyone is sick of me talking about Jr. but tackle football season is here. He was the 3rd kid selected in the first round in a 16 team league with 30 man rosters. The coaches (I may get to be an assistant but thats till up in the air) are coaches from the Madison Mustangs (our local semi pro team). These guys are tough and really work the kids hard. Young Gloop wears #66 (Ray Nitschke) and will be playing QB, DE and I'm sure he'll play some O-line as well. They move the kids around to what amounts to their four best positions So he'll probably play QB, DE, TE and Guard.

My deal with him is this - he can play provided his GPA is at a 3.5 UNLESS the reason for a GPA lower than 3.5 is as a result of art class. Unfortunately he was gifted with my ability in art - he does draw a nice stick man though <g>. So....it's no grade - no football. We need to keep him focused on what really matters. His grades have always been that high so its really about not allowing him to slip back to the pack

Even if I can't coach I'm really looking forward to this season because he just loves the game. Contrary to what people might believe I'm not pushing him at all (except in school). 2 days ago he was 2 minutes (exactly 2 minutes late for practice) and the coach said run 2 laps around the field. I then told the coach it was my fault (which it was) so he said "then you run with him." ROFLMAO!! All the parents started laughing but I said "yes sir" and took my punishment. I was...how shall I say this...oh yeah - WINDED LOL!!

Sucks to be 42

So that's the news from my end.
