wheel...you could have solved the whole thing by doing this:

1) Ask the person what group they represent....(normally they won't tell you)

2) Tell them you never give any personal info or comments out to people on the phone, certainly to anyone you don't know.

That will end the call.

Dunno.... sounds legit to me. Someone wants to know which way winds are blowing in the district. If they said something like "fav or unfav considering from POV of your extended family's traditional religious and ethical beliefs" -- that would be a little trickier... :)
