Ukraine is a country that is generally instable with regards to some of the most fundamental parameters for growth, like having a predictable tax system. Anyway, they're able to have growth. Ukraine can only improve on this one. There are a lot of stories around right now, about Ukraine and problems. Another one was, that Russia was handing out passports, but that's actually an old story, from long before the Georgian invented was even thought of. Don't believe all these stories as a prediction of Ukraine cracking. The other one, about Yuchenko and Tymoshenko is interesting, but to a large degree, I believe this to be Russian-style politics executed in a country with free press. Yuchenko has severe political problems because even his core voters are doubting his ability to do good things, and this latest action will position himself as the guy, who is unable to do great stuff, but is a Ukrainian by heart (as if Tymoshenko isn't). There is no doubt that Ukraine's current security status depends a lot on NATO and EU, but that also applies to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland etc.

elmo Yulia is a big riddle - Just a gut feeling - personally I do not trust her and I think she is highly manipulative. I was supposed to meet her regarding some projects but because of my inner gut feeling I found an excuse. Meet other officials instead. As to her relation with Yushchenko they are like cat and dog or better cat and mouse do not know the details but there is very little trust between them. They are both very smart but she is much more driven, angry and power hungry
