The (R)'s and the Russians, both being authoritarians at heart, have always understood each other. It's a system of "You invade your countries, and we'll invade ours, while keeping up the public face of denouncing each other, talking tough, scaring the piss out of our citizens for fear-based control and rattling sabers."

This is obviously revisionist history. We have been assured that Reagan would never have taken such an insult laying down. He was Stand Tall and aggressively confronting the USSR at every turn... Reagan did Stand Tall. You know Lake Baikal in Russia. That's where he nuked Russia. For a long time it was a big hole in the ground but then it filled up with water and now its a big tourist lake. I know its true.......they did a whole documentary on Fox News about it!
