"That's because nobody said it"

So? It makes for a good sound bite...

Reality is over-rated.

JF, > That's because nobody said it.

A LOT was being said about Edwards and his lack of experience, especially as a single-term Senator. Rumor had it that even Kerry wasn't happy picking Edwards as his running mate because Edwards was seen as "fast-tracking" his way to the White House.

> but when you say "his station" it implies where he permanently belongs. It you were applying for a job and the interviewer told you it was "above your station in life", what would you think? Honestly.

Personally, I never get any implication of permanence when I hear the phrase "your station." Maybe I'm naive, but if I get the vibe you're talking about, then I'm probably interviewing for the wrong employer.

Anyway, I don't see Obama's "station" as being any different than that of Edwards.
