Americans don't want an extremist liberal as president, and the geniuses in the Democrat party don't get it. They lost the last two elections, and THEY THINK IT IS BECAUSE THEIR CANDIDATES WEREN'T LIBERAL ENOUGH! So, they run a man that makes McGovern look like Wm. F. Buckley Jr.

Exactly right. The Democratic party has been taken over by Moveon.org and the KosKids.

The war's turned around, and Bush is coming back a bit (and 20 years from now may well start to look like a great president).

This may happen much sooner than in 20 years. One gets a feeling that it is no longer cool among Muslims to be joining the extremists. Their movement appears weakened and compromised. Iraq eventually turned against them.

If someone had the balls to fight Hitler before he became very powerful, people would say, "Too much trouble about nothing". It is possible to identify ideologies and movements which have the potential to become huge problems. Bush was able to do that.
