Coincidence? I don't think so. Obama is ending the war. Give credit where credit is due.

Absolutely...they have followed every policy direction he has put forth. Talking to Iran, timetable, more troops in Afghanistan. For a "celebrity", the man is brilliant...but I give W and rice some credit for at least following brilliant advice.

The only reason they followed Obama's good advice is because they are worried that McCain will lose the election. Not that matter........a withdrawal from Iraq is a withdrawal from Iraq.

A total misrepresentation. We are not talking about a fixed time table that cannot be adjusted for a spike up in violence. What Obama proposed was a 16-month withdrawal without consideration of the facts on the ground. The difference is huge.

As to Afghanistan, I don't think anyone ever suggested we didn't need more troops there. McCain believed it from the outset as did the administration. But it was critical that we won the bigger war first. Now that we have, it frees up manpower for Afghanistan.

THE BIGGEST MISTAKE WE COULD HAVE MADE WAS TO WITHDRAW FROM IRAQ PREMATURELY TO BOLSTER TROOP LEVELS IN AFGHANISTAN, AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT OBAMA WANTED TO DO.

Doing so would have resulted in Iraq collapsing into chaos leaving us unable to focus on Afghanistan. Having won in Iraq, we are now able to do what needs to be done in both places.

There is no way a rational person can look at what Obama proposed and claim it is what has happened. NONE of what is happening today could have happened under Obama's scenario.

Grudgingly.
