The public still thinks we lost. We have to DECLARE VICTORY...

Okay, fair enough. But the withdrawal has to be according to what the military people say is workable, not based on an arbitrary time line as Obama wants to do.

There is the possibility, for example, that we'll see another flare up on the part of al Sadr -- if that happens, it will be necessary for us to support the ISF in stamping it out. And this could happen. We cannot be bound into some arbitrary time line if this occurs.

What the liberals are missing is that THE FUNDAMENTAL DIFFERENCE between what we're doing and what Obama wanted to do is that Obama wanted to do it at a time that would have resulted in chaos in Iraq instead of leaving a democracy behind which is what we're now doing. The fixed, 16-month time table is an issue, but the REAL difference is that Obama would have had us do it 16 months ago, meaning we would have lost the war and Iraq would now be beyond salvaging.

The left doesn't want to see this, and would never admit it, but they sure as hell can't argue the point.

"The public still thinks we lost. We have to DECLARE VICTORY..."

I think Bush should do it on an aircraft carries that he lands on in a jet fighter, under a big banner that says, "Mission Accomplished"!
