You'd be wrong. He had an interview with the SF Chronicle in April of 1999 where he thought that Roe v. Wade was ok.


I told you, that is the one place where such a claim has been made. Both before and after that alleged interview McCain has disputed that claim.

I would put that in the category of "reporter made mistake or intentional misstatement, and I don't know which".

Most importantly, paperwork filled out and executed by McCain '98 disputes the SF Chronicle claim.

He has made public statements where he has given his support for it.

Okay, fine. Show me a link. I've read just about everything there is on McCain over the years, and I know of no time he has supported torture. I do disagree with him on this, however, and I disagree with his claim that waterboarding IS torture in the first place. While he's obviously biased, I would also say he pretty much has standing to challenge anyone on the subject.

We are not talking about a vote. We are talking money. And not just a donation, but a solicited donation.
