It's a result of too many prepared foods at the Supermarket. I have tossed sugar out of the kitchen and replaced it with Splenda. You will still get a glycemic reaction but it tastes good, both raw and cooked. The expensive health food versions are an overkill, IMO. If you have a Wal Mart near you, mine carries a big bag of Splenda for about $8. DON'T BUY the "half sugar" bag. Use this and your BS will drop, I bet. Then no more arguments with your Doc about Diabetes. Looks like he did a "Total Cloresteral" test, which most use. It's the cheapest way to test, and the least accurate. But usally OK for most of us. They then calculate the various values. Love the 55 HDL number. The Trigs are way high, as is the LDL. A good HDL number combined with high Trigs and LDL usually indicate that you have large LDL, which is better than small. I have small LDL, which can get though the arterial walls much easier, and causes three times the heart attacks that large does. I use 1000mg of Niacin a day, and 8 fish oil capsules. I think adding a couple of 2000IU vitamin D softgels to your mix would help your numbers. BTW, if you do ever have digestion problems with the Fish oil, Costco now carries the enteric covered ones, which dissolve in your intestine. The most important thing you can do, IMO, is to get a Heart Scan and find out the REAL picture of your potential arterial plague. If you have plaque, then work on these numbers. If you have zero plaque, relax and don't worry about them. Find a scanning company in your area. The tests usually runs about $400 these days, including feedback. Go on line with your ZIP and the words "Heart scan." You want an EBT scan, although it can be done with a 64 slice scanner. Start with this site. trackyourplaque.com
