My name is Rodrigo Calderon Araya. I am from Costa Rica. In Costa Rica, we have two last names. The second name, "Araya," would be my mother's maiden name. This is like what Americans use for their middle name. Down here, if I had a business card, it would say, "Rodrigo Calderon A." In the United States, it most likely would be "Rodrigo A. Calderon." So I am, for the most part, known as Rodrigo Calderon, that's my name. The "second last name" is an insignificant identifier like a middle name.

Officially, my bank accounts, paychecks, credit cards, etc., are just "Rodrigo Calderon."

It's not like I've omitted a portion of my name to avoid being identified.
