DISAGREE. the real problem with his answer (IT'S NOT A GAFF) is that it highlights this charade over his money, her money, bla bla bla. Nobody buys the story that his wife is fabulously rich but he isn't. It just looks weaselly.

What you are saying is nobody buys the truth.
As was the case with John Kerry and the Heinz woman, McCann signed a pre-nup. It really is HER money, not his. Now perhaps he has some of his own money from the Senate job or books or pensions etc. but the "wealth" and the houses belong to Mrs. McCain. Apparently only Democratic wives are off limits.

.....but even if it was his money, do Democrats think that having money (Kennedy, Kerry, Soros, Corzine, etc.) is now a bad thing?

I don't recall a time when McCain said he was not well off. I don't the charade that you see.
