We aren't talking about selling organs out of back alleys or even as simple consumer items, or in auction houses or trading pits.

The organs would be controlled by medical personnel, you would however let people get compensated for their organs, just as the doctors and hospitals involved currently get compensated for their efforts.

Have you heard about the scandal involving UCLA giving organ transplants to members of the Yakuza?

No, but its not surprising. Make it illegal and you get a black market. You are MORE likely to get something like this when the trade is illegal.
