My experience is exactly similar. I have been on Lipitor , Vytorin, and now Zocor(generic). The problem is that although similar drugs, our bodies react differently. And if you want to get your cholesteral levels way down to prevent buildup, then you need LDL at 70. To do this , the studies show that crestor works the best. Your choices are to increase dosage of the others or switch to crestor. But crestor seems to have according to the studies the hardest effect on your liver etc.
Diet and exercise are not enough for most of us with plaque/calcium build up. Ageing is wonderful .
