Sometimes you just can't separate politics from mining, as politics has a direct affect on economic activities including mining. Just ask the folks who bought ARU for example. As everyone knows, sentiment or perception trumps everything including fundamentals.

A too restrictive thread could become boring especially on slow news days. It doesn't take long to scan through a post and hit the "next" button if you don't want to hear political views. Everything in its place and moderation I guess.

Just my opinion.

Very probably the geopolitical and economic forces now underway will continue despite which of the two major parties takes office in January. In this regard, the only differences that could result would likely be related to the timing of events, and not a substantively altered future.

In my opinion, therefore, partisan comments are of little use here.

My biases? I am a Libertarian.
