LOL! It could be that avoiding an economic slowdown and a big bear market may be more of a challenge. Politicians may try solving all problems by further diluting the dollar.... but frankly, Republican administrations in this respect were not noticeably better than dems.

Spending assets or creating income will be an interesting process.

Let us know what ideas you can find for that....

Maybe going overseas, buying a whole houseful of furniture for about 1/8 the cost it is here, bringing it back as household goods, and then selling it piece by piece.... Or is it just the folks in Congress that do things like that?

i have lived off my ira for last 13 years.. you can buy and sell without worry as to any reportable gains, no federal tax until you withdraw.. you can determine your own tax bracket if that is your major source of income. if you live in one of the states that do not charge state tax on ira withdrawals you are further ahead.

my ira is not a roth so all withdrawals are ordinary income.
