Niacin needs to get to 1000mgs a day to affect the HDL number, according to Dr Davis. Everybody will benefit from a 2000IU softgel of Vitamin D a day.

When I got a heart scan last year, I had my Lipid panel numbers all in "normal range" and no symptoms of heart disease. I had no kidney symptoms either. I got interested in heart and body scans after reading Dr Davis's blog.

My heart scan turned up the fact that I had arterial plaque with a 330 calcium score. And the body scan I got at the same time turned up a tumor on my kidney that turned out to be malignant.

How much harder do I have to hit people over the head here to get them to get scanned?

Take all the supplements you want. But until you know the FACTS, you are spinning your wheels.

What really annoys me are the Doctors who diagnose and treat for arterial plaque without ever finding out just how much their patients have.
