"The New Testament was written shortly after Christs' existence which gives it some credibility" Maybe. However, there is more than a little dispute as to who actually wrote the Gospels. It is pretty certain that several of the Gospels were written by different people than the ones they are named after. Research "the synoptic problem" to get some insight. "Now, I don't have much knowledge of this subject and don't claim to, so I'll leave it for others who are more knowledgeable than I am." Well, to put it delicately, it is a subject in a great deal of dispute. It isn't anywhere close to cut and dried. "But I recognize someone being argumentative when I see it." And I recognize someone who doesn't have a real clue what they are talking about.
