Is anyone on this thread really interested in trying to discuss things for the purpose of understanding, or is this like the pundits (both conservatives and liberals) who just defend their position and look for anything to throw at something different than what they beleive?

I vote for conservatives and republicans all the time in my state on the local level as the liberals get nuts soemtimes with regard to environmental issues.

Clinton raised taxes on the advice of his economic advisors. He asked them how to balance the budget and they told him to raise taxes. He did it early in his administration. All politicians do that when they want to do something peopel are generally agaisnt.

Clinton gained nothing politically by raising taxes except to know he was doing the right thing.
