There are politicians that lie as a way of life and then there are politicians that hate lying, but are forced into it by a clueless electorate. George mcGovern versus Nixon, as I have mentioned many times shows how voters think. McGovern is such a decent man, brave and highly educated. Bobby Kennedy said he was the most decent man in the senate. Judge Sirica said he thought Nixon was incapable of telling the truth. Nixon won 49 to 1. A pathological liar smashed a wonderful man. The voters had a clear chice between a Stalin and a Mandela and chose Stalin. That reality has depressed me my whole life. People make politicans lie. We get what we want.
