It scares me that you would even think that!! That is not the case. It almost happened during the cuban missle crises Carolyn. Pick up the movie 13 days with kevin costner. It was based on the transcripts of what actually took place behind closed doors. Curtis Le may, air force general, really wanted to bomb the Russians in cuba. That would have started a nuclear war. Krushev would have had no choice his generals woul dhave demanded it. Kennedy overrode him and Macnamara coordinated the blockaid and so we survive to this day. But Kennedy still had to make the Russians "blink". What if the russians had decided to run the blockaid??????? And if Curtis Lemay had had his way we would not be posting right now-lol. We would all be long dead. Check out the movie, it will scare you to death-lol. Especially with what is going on right now in Russia.
