bill...try adding some weight resistance training if you are able...it's more muscle mass as we age, but muscle burns calories

Very discouraging because I walked in feeling slimmer.

You might be slimmer. I only lost 2 pounds this past week, but my waistline is slimmer.

I think there is something to that "wheat belly" thing.

You have to go by inches and not just weight. If you've added exercise you can be losing fat and gaining muscle and not losing at the scale though you are actually thinner and leaner.

Bill, buy yourself one of those body fat
testers, probably around 40 bucks on sale
or maybe Ebay. They're not as accurate
as professionally executed submersion tests,
but they'll give you a good indication. Remember,
muscle weighs more than fat, so if you're working
out at all, you can be burning fat and adding
muscle while still gaining weight.
