"No one in his right mind could consider this a good thing." No it isn't. And it has been predicted here. By Ted. Like with Russia's refusal to withdraw. I grant you playing this game of putting people down can be fun, but it would be even more fun to discuss the possibilities. Personally, I see few options in that region. We have been tripping down the garden path, pretending that some guys in caves are the largest threat our civilization has ever faced, totally ignoring the real threats. Which is, and has been, the fact that we have allowed people who don't like us all that much to control our energy future. This has been getting worse and worse for decades. Every time some new technology has been proposed, it has been fought. Blocked. Ignored. Which is understandable. We have a lot invested in the present methods. But, we are reaching the "use by" date on most of them.
