With the Democrats attacking Romney it certainly signifies their fear of having to run against Romney and McCain.
They know that Romney is well versed in business and economics----just what is needed in this election.

Obviously, they want to influence McCain's decision so that McCain chooses a weak nominee rather than a strong one that they fear such as Romney.

Romney is being mentioned frequently and favorably amongst my Virginia friends, both Republican and independents.

Another name that comes up but wasn't mentioned in the article is Condoleezza Rice. I talked to some Richmond friends today who think she would be a great choice.

Rice indicated earlier that she would not want the VP but prefers to pursue other interests after the Bush term.

I believe a good case could be made by the Republican Party and Senator McCain to persuade her to be the VP nominee.
