It's a question of degree.. As a parent you do all you can do to protect your child.. Traveling in a car you place your child in an appropriate car seat.. (not when I was kid LOL) because the probability of survival is greater... We are not wildebeest or deer .. we cannot run from danger minutes after birth..

Nothing is said about on its own. Normal conditions include a mother or some surrogate. Ir doesn't include an incubator, monitoring equipment, oxygen, IVs...

a few months after birth I had the croup.. I survived because I had a tracheotomy and was placed in an oxygen tent.. .. I'm kinda glad that happened..

Normal is subjective eh ?
