Ann, Do you suppose at last this means that Kenneth indeed does have pets?

If you hear the dogs barking, keep running...

“We don’t need four more years of the last eight years,” Clinton said, hammering McCain on numerous issues, including health care, high fuel prices, job outsourcing, home foreclosures and the war in Iraq.

“It makes perfect sense that George Bush and John McCain will be together next week in the Twin Cities,” she said. “Because these days they’re awfully hard to tell apart.”

Great talking points!

GOP platform may have global warming plank
Published: Aug. 26, 2008 at 5:22 PMOrder reprints | Print Story | Email to a Friend | Post a Comment WASHINGTON, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- The Republican platform may include a first-ever plank on global warming, an examination of a draft document indicated.

"Increased atmospheric carbon has a warming effect on the Earth," The Hill reported the draft document as saying. "While the scope and long term consequences of this warming effect are the subject of ongoing research, we believe the United States should take measured and reasonable steps today."

Sen. John McCain, poised to become the party's presidential nominee next week during the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn., is a proponent of tackling global warming.

The party is also expected to consider taking a strong anti-earmark position, also favored by McCain, the draft indicated.

"Earmarking must stop," the draft said. "To eliminate wasteful projects and payoffs to special interests, we will impose an immediate moratorium on the earmarking system and reform the appropriations process through full transparency."

The final version of the 2008 Republican Platform will be ratified during the convention.

Pelosi to protesters: "Can we drill your brains?"
August 26, 2008

House Democratic leaders and protesters waving McCain signs had a war of words Tuesday at a press event outside an old train station. The demonstrators interrupted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with chants of “Drill here! Drill now!”

Pelosi paused and asked the group, “Right here?”

Seeming to enjoy the back and forth, she followed with another question: “Can we drill your brains?”

She went on to refer to the protesters, who continued to chant sporadically, as “handmaidens of Big Oil.” Arguing that increased offshore drilling would reduce gas prices by only a couple of pennies a decade from now, she referred to the demonstrators as the “2-cents-in-10-years-crowd.”

Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer swiped at the demonstrators, too, saying that “sophomoric chanting” won’t solve the energy crisis and that “all thinking Americans know” — stressing the word "thinking" and looking at the crowd — that America doesn’t have a quarter of the word’s fossil fuels yet uses a quarter of the world’s energy.

Nice condescending behavior from the left. I would start worrying if I were you, Kenneth, :)
