The article is 7 years old I believe. Apparently Dr. Davis has changed his mind since then about grape seed oil (favorably mentioned then and now verboten) whole grain wheat (favorably mentioned then and now verboten) and perhaps he is now more favorably disposed towards saturated fats and egg yolks.

In general his articles there about diet make sense. I continue to feel that the absolutely most important thing is avoiding processed foods in general, sugar type substances (apparently including all types of wheat, potatoes, white rice etc), and trans fats (which hopefully are entering the dust bin of history).

In other words, cut out the doughnuts, the McDonald's, the sodas, the beer, and all the rest of the huge gamut of junk food like pizza and pretzels, and you are more than half way there. JMHO of course.

I've made one egg per day as one of the cornerstones of my present diet..

I think that eggs became pariahs because of their cholesterol back in the day, not their sat fat. When folks dis eggs, that's usually their frame of reference. Dietary cholesterol has since become much less of an issue and eggs have become more acceptable in most quarters. As for sat fat, that is still concerning but not as much as it once was, either. But an egg has only 1.5 grams. That's hardly enough to be worth worrying about, IMO. A hamburger has 9 grams. That, one might reasonably worry about.

I eat two eggs every day for breakfast. Like you said, they're easy, cheap, tasty, etc., and they drop my blood glucose, which for some reason creeps up overnight, like a rock. What concerns me most about them is the Omega 9, which is why I've switched to free range chicken eggs, which have more Omega 3 and balance the Omega 9.
