Jim Carter tried to embrace conservation and alternative energy 30 years ago. He also wanted to go metric which was viewed as an abrogation of US sovereignty.
So he was laughed at and ridiculed and called a wimp and a failure. Nothing has charged since 1973. Vision is not a virtue in politics unless one is ruthless in its implementation.
