Well, only if you count those who have changed their views in hindsight, a luxury Bush doesn't have. These people, these liberals, mostly agreed before the fact that Saddam needed to be taken out. They have approved every dollar of financing for the war effort. And only after it became ugly (as wars are prone to do) did they started backing away from it. It is called politics. They will all tell you the world is better off without saddam but that the cost of removing him was too high in terms of human life, money spent, weakening the US military etc. And those that voted for the war will tell you the war wasnt fought right and their vote was based on hyped info from the admin. Again, this is back seat driving of the worst kind. Obama's view *WAS* extreme before the war began. After it got messy, then ALL the liberals backed away from it. Only the most extreme liberals opposed it when it started (and that is when you must take the measure, not 5 or 7 years into it as they want to do). It is very disingenuous to say that opposing the war wasn't extreme and using today's positions as evidence of it. Those who argue they were misled are either lying or weren't paying attention. Everyone had the same intelligence, and moreover, everyone knew that Saddam needed to be taken out. The truth is it should have been done in the early 90s. Bush 41 did the right thing; the liberals would have gone nuts had he gone beyond the UN authority. But the instant Saddam started thumbing his nose at the US, he should have been removed. But we had a weak president who ran the country by politics, and the result was the can was kicked down the road until 9/11.
