TBS, > Naw.. it would turn into a circle game discussing the meaning of viability or when life begins.... no right answer.. just a generally accepted consensus with many who disagree..

Often those who consider themselves part of the "consensus" look down upon those who disagree.

As for when life begins, these days "pro-choice" means letting the mother decide when life begins.

Chimps bear their feti for 18 months, and they are born much more capable than our babies. All large hominids but us carry their young much longer than we do.

Theory says this is because of our large brains and heads, which has forced human babies to be born "premature", even at nine months, compared to our hominid cousins.

"I find it interesting though that scientific 'definitions' defended as gospel (to borrow a term) are also subject to change.. "

As we learn more, things change. I'd say "evolve" but there are some who would object to that...

That's the whole point of science. We don't have final answers.
