Plenty of local Chinese gov. have been bought by enterprises of solely foreign owned, or jointed owned. And the central gov. has lost control of those local gov. on many things. No, I have NOT said ALL China has done is good. If you really pay attention to my post (most of them in that China's thread, Not here), you should have read I have plenty of complains about what is going on in China right now!! And yes, due to China now depends on exports so much, Foreign companies have partially hijacked Chinese gov. law making and law enforcement process! I sometimes even think China, in some matters, is now the Biggest colony! >>DO you really that in this day and age that anybody could force their will on China?<< NOT anyone! but sometimes, on some matters, multinational companies can and have collectively forced China delay some policies that would result less profit for those big companies! Many elite in China now is NOTHIGN but the mouthpiece of the Western interest! They are called HanJian! This word indeed started from Anti-Japanese war period. That war is over, HanJian can always reborn. As for inaction of people in China, there are some action, but far from enough, Put it in perspective, much better than before. Give you two examples, one was the US company CAT failed to take over/buy out (way below the market price) a big Chinese SOE in heavy machinary (Xu Gong); another is more recently, Hu Jin Tao went to Japan, sign a comprise agreement over East China Sea dispute, let Japanese invest in China's oil field/natural gas field. Just read China told Japan, due to the domestic opposition, there will be indefinite delay. ALL these opposition are from ordinary Chinese. BTW, law enforcement in many small, mid-size cities in China is a joke. That is why I call China is pretty much lawless!
