I don't know if I agree that everyone is waiting for the last shoe to drop. Certainly, we talk about it here on this thread but I don't know if this is a common view with the investing public.

There is no question that the semi industry has had oversupply issues. Few would have expected the commodity craze we've seen over the past few years. This has dramatically reduced disposable income for the average consumer due to excessively high prices for gas, food and other items.

If you believe in a long term global recession, then there is no reason to expect the semi industry to have a quick rebound later this year or in 2009 for that matter.
