The first rule of politics is to know where you are, the second is to be on the floor of the Democratic National Convention before it starts and everyday thereof and to stay around when it finishes for any last minute clean-up of political problems or thoughts or ideas for the future. Unfortunately, you failed on all fronts--at least so far. 1. You were not on the convention floor during the opening and important first night; you gave all that ground to the Clintons. Big Mistake. You can never tell what Hillary or Billl will do, for they see themselves as "anointed" and you as a usurper. Hillary made it plain, as did Bill, when they both said, "We can't tell our delegates what to do or what to say." This is true, but they certainly can do more than just throw their hands in the air and say, "We have nothing to do with whatever they want to do or say. In this case, you have no idea what was going on at the convention, no matter how many of your men and women were on the floor. 2. You made a mistake when answering your children as to where you were; enough said about that! 3. Your little TV trick was very amateurish. No one knows or care about who that family was, or if even u knew them beyond useing them for a photo-op. Somehow, a lot of us have lost faith in your principles and what seemed to be a political savvy and just plain old fashioned good sense. 4. You have hired so many of the former Clinton people that it's now hard to tell what you think, what Hillary thinks or thought and what McCain and Bush think. Your new advisors have led you off the track that was leading you to the White House. At this time, even before the debates, you are sounding more and more like Gore and Kerry, both of whom had the election won, but found a way to lose it! Have you no real principles, no faith in doing what is right and just? The way you kissed the ass of AIPAC, yes, it was not their feet, was an abomination and will shame your name the rest of your life. You didn't have to do that. The way you have now waffled so much on Iraq that you and McCain are only inches apart; even Michelle's comments, that "My husband will find a responsible way to take our troops out of Iraq," was waffling. Barack, what is "out of/" What is "responsible way?" Ah, so many slippery words, so many slippery phrases now that sound as if you really have some plans and want some real changes--but when your phrases are examined now, and since you voted to lose Habaes Corpus and to fund more war in Irq, how can anyone tell what you really mean? You are sounding more and more like Greenspan, Rumsfeld, Bush and McCain, not to mention Hillary (who seems to have stolen your pants :). Ah, Barack, you showed what we thought was so much promise, but now you are evaporating before our eyes. Tis too sad and bad for you, for America and for the world. Best wishes to begin getting back on the train of truth and justice, and off the Clinton, Bush, kiss the feet and corruption train. c: Sam Hamod, Aug. 26, 08
